This is for an average to little bit larger than avg. size lawn. The lawn has an exsisting system that is not working. The valves have been exposed for years and some of the pipes have worked up to the top of the soil and are cracked or were chewed on by dogs.

So, our realtor and inspector said it would probably be easier to just replace the whole system. Someone told me $11,000 but others have said that was outrageous. Any idea?

Much thanks!

I need help troubleshooting problem with sprinkler system; is it electrical?

I have 2 zone sprinkler system. it has worked fine as of two weeks ago. Only one zone now works. the other does nothing like it is a power issue. I checked timer and appears to be fine. How do I check solenoids for problems (do I need to open them up and if so, how) They look like hard plastic with two wires coming from each. i have three solenoids. is there something else I should be checking also?

My 16 year old dog is very allergic to Tru Green chem lawn. Spring being around the corner, Its time for Tru green again. My Husband does not want to stop tru green because of good results and service. But Molly really can’t take it this year. Vet confirmed allergy. Please help if you have any Ideas. Need more information before I put my foot down. We have been using for 8 years, Would 1 year off really matter. You’d think there would be enough chemicals left in the ground to have a good lawn without this year.? Molly is in great shape but I realize this is probably her last summer. It should be allergy free. PLEASE HELP

My husband and I just had a house built and our yard is a huge mudpit. It’s really hard to take our tiny puppy out to potty when we are both sinking in the dirt. Anyways, this spring we were wanting to have a sprinkler system installed and a well put in. Our front and back yard together is I believe 72′ w x 125′ long and our house is 1000 sq feet. Ok thank you!

How do I detect the location of a leak?

I have a leak in an underground sprinkler pipe. It’s only in one station and the only evidence is that when that particular station turns on there is an incredible drop in pressure. This station has sprinklers running along the perimeter of our property. I cannot find any other visible evidence of this leak, only the drop in pressure. Other than digging up all the way along this station I can’t think of any other way to detect the location of the leak. Any ideas? I’ve already checked all the sprinkler heads on this station and also replaced the valve recently. Thanks.

What type of sprinkler timer to use?

I have recently replaced an old mechanical sprinkler timer with a TORO ECXTRA timer. 2 zones now don’t work that were working fine with the old mechanical timer. A sprinkler technican recommended that I install a timer that had more amps output? The toro has .3…I notice that a similar model from Hunter has a 1 amp output…I have no idea what all of this means other than possibly the new timer is not strong enough to activate the older solenoids.

We have verigated miscanthus in our landscaping near patio. This is the first year we planted the beautiful tall grass. How short to the ground do I trim the grass after the first frost and is it necessary to mulch up around the grasses? This question is for the midwest area. Thank you.
